WHAT MAKES THE PERFECT MARRIAGE?
This year, MoveAbout Theatre welcomes you to the home of Sir Robert Chiltern and his loving wife, Lady Gertrude Chiltern, a wealthy and respected couple known for their work in the British government. But nobody is quite whom you expect them to be when the cunning Mrs. Chevely shows up, threatening to unveil a dark secret of Robert’s past unsuspected by anyone in Robert’s life--especially Lady Chiltern. Meanwhile, the Chilterns’ close friend Lord Goring is being pestered by his father, Lord Caversham, to marry, but the only person Goring has eyes for is Robert’s sister, the witty and quick Mabel Chiltern. The only problem? Everyone in town is proposing to Mabel. And unfortunately for Goring, unlucky relationships in the past have stopped him from being the kind of guy who professes his feelings.
Will Robert's shady past catch up with him? How does Mabel feel about Goring? And just where did this Mrs. Chevely come from? Join us in Great Meadow at Fort Mason on April 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24 at 1pm and watch the drama unfold in this free comedic masterpiece by Oscar Wilde.
Directed by Kali Kecskemeti and Kate Adler
